Beware Club Caribe Fraud when you buy timeshares in Cancun; while Club Caribe is a legitimate vacation club, fraudsters may use their name to fool you! However if you’re clever and careful you can easily avoid a Club Caribe fraud and bag yourself a great investment.
Should you beware Club Caribe scams in Cancun?
Yes and no. Club Caribe is, as previously stated, a legitimate vacation club but many scammers will try to hide behind their good reputable name. If you ensure that you only buy from the official sellers in the salesroom at the Villa del Palmar Cancun resort then you should never face timeshare fraud. Many of the most costly timeshare scams happen when bogus sellers claim to sell non-existent timeshares; if you are offered a Club Caribe membership without being on site at the Villa del Palmar or are taken elsewhere to sign a contract then beware. If this happens then report such offers immediately to the Club Caribe sales team!
Other timeshare scams, such as resale scams, are possible but less likely for Club Caribe as Villa del Palmar Cancun Beach Resort & Spa only opened in 2011. Resale scams occur when membership owners are tempted with large amounts of money for their Club Caribe memberships; in return, the fraudsters claim that all they must do is pay an enrolment fee. They are told that buyers are interested in their timeshare and, after paying the fee, find out that this was a scam and the agent has pocketed the fee.
So, in many ways, it is true that you must beware Club Caribe fraud while on vacation in Cancun but with a little common sense you can give these fraudsters the slip and get yourself a good investment for a future vacation! Just be sure you buy direct from Club Caribe and read the contract before signing!
