Great news for Puerto Vallarta’s hotels, resorts, restaurants and local businesses as 2013 summer occupancy in hotels was set to reach 80%, almost a return to the former glory days before the economic world crisis hit. A report online by Hotel New Resource outlines the figures given by Mexico’s Ministry of Tourism which indicate a positive rise in occupancy in Puerto Vallarta. With an estimated $78 million dollars to seep down into the economy, local business in the much loved beach destinations will benefit greatly from the increase in numbers.
A comprehensive wide-reaching marketing campaign has been in place for Puerto Vallarta, promoting the city in both foreign countries and nationally, a campaign that seems to have had a great effect. Furthermore, improvements to the local infrastructure have also made the destination more attractive. Perhaps most importantly are the increased numbers of direct flights to the port, which makes the destination much more desirable especially for those traveling with children. Hotel News Resource points out that Delta now have 9 direct flights from Los Angeles, and there are proposed routes from New York JFK and Philadelphia. Another airline plans flights from UK’s Manchester and London Gatwick in 2014
As tourism begins to rise, Puerto Vallarta is in a prime position to receive guests from all walks of life and all budgets. There are so many elements of this beautiful city to enjoy, including the newly remodeled Malecon, a delightful boardwalk lined with shops, bars and tasteful nightclubs on one side and ocean on the other. Adventure is also on the cards as well as gourmet restaurants and wine festivals. Puerto Vallarta really has it all.
